| Hi all
| I have a WinNT workstation that only has a 2Gb c: partition.
| Problem is keeping sufficient space clear for smooth operation.
| In the WinNT40 folder there are numerous sub-folders (maybe they were still
| directories in those days) that are named with a four or five letter/number
| mix. In each of these folders there are three or four files, some or all
of:: clean.dat, scan.dat, names.dat and a nnnnn.upd file.
| These are presumably records of updates for the a-virus software - can they
| be deleted safely?
Yes if the files are dated to be more than a couple of days.
*.DAT are signiture filed.
*.UPD are incremental updates.
